Exclusive Member News | City Member Central -

(April 29th, 2022)

Dear City Member,

We want to inform you that our match on October 1st vs Orlando City will now be played at Red Bull Arena on Sunday, October 2nd at 1:00pm. Due to the Major League Baseball (MLB) lockout, MLB’s regular season was pushed back to Wednesday, October 5. As a result, Citi Field is unavailable on both October 1 and 2, and Yankee Stadium remains unavailable.

We understand that this is a less than ideal situation for our Members. Due to this, we have made some updates for the 2022 Season:

1) The variable price of your ticket(s) to the impacted matches originally scheduled for April 9th and October 1st will now be adjusted to reflect our Red Bull Arena pricing.

  • Credit has been added to your account for the difference in cost.

 2) As a result, any unallocated credit associated with these impacted games and price adjustments, will now be eligible to be used for our potential first 2022 home playoff match (if this credit has not been used prior to the home playoff match).

  • All unallocated credit associated with these impacted games must be used during the 2022 regular season or first 2022 home playoff match.

 3) If you would like to opt out of those matches – stay tuned – more information to come.

  • These opt outs will not count towards your trade out total for the season.

For example, if the original price of your ticket to the April 9th match was $100 and your adjusted price for the match on August 31st at Red Bull Arena is $40, the difference of $60 will be eligible for the rest of the season & our first 2022 home playoff match. Should you elect to opt-out of the match(es) at Red Bull Arena – the full value of $100 will be eligible to be used for the rest of the season & our first 2022 home playoff match.

If you have any questions on how to utilize money on account this season, please reach out to your NYCFC Representative.

Sincerely,

NYCFC

Hi,

Happy New Year Champions! Let me start by echoing Brad’s sentiment from last week. Together, we have done it. Together, we have achieved our ultimate goal of bringing a championship trophy back home to NYC. Let me be clear, we could not have achieved this tremendous milestone without you. Your passion pushed this team forward throughout the entire season – but this was especially true during our epic playoff campaign. From New England, to Philly to Portland to the Hammerstein Ballroom Watch Party to the steps of City Hall, you continued to show up for us. Again, a huge thank you to the best fans in MLS.

Next up, and as we spoke about during the 2021 Town Halls, we want to clearly articulate key updates around 2022 City Member Pricing, and this settle up period for City Members.

3) Option 3 – Contact your rep xxx for alternative options.

As always, we try to play all our home games in five boroughs. We do have one scheduled at Red Bull Arena this season, but please remember that any home match played at RBA will be optional, as always. Please stay tuned for updates on how to opt out for this match if you’d like.

Once again, we cannot thank our City Members enough. Looking forward to seeing you all for the 2022 season – and are currently planning a special celebration for the home opener on March 12th. More to come, but we absolutely cannot wait to get started and will be hungry to bring home even more hardware this year.

Hello City Members!

First, I want to wish you and your loved ones a happy and healthy New Year. I hope that you enjoyed the holidays and were able to stay safe. It has become an annual tradition for me to reflect on the past season and share my thoughts with our most loyal fans, our City Members. And I’ll tell you what, I could really get used to writing this email this late every year!

The first, and most obvious reflection from the 2021 season was… WE DID IT! What a wildly memorable playoff run that culminated in achieving our ultimate goal – delivering an MLS Cup championship trophy to New York City and to our incredible fans! Together, we are all UndeNYable champions – and we could not have done it without you.

We absolutely must continue to celebrate this historic occasion together. As the first New York sports team to win a championship title in 10+ years, this is a giant milestone for all New Yorkers. We are so proud to have done this #ForTheCity and bring the Cup home to New York. It has been incredible to celebrate with you all over the past several weeks – from City Hall to Times Square on New Year’s Eve and all across NYC. You have showed that NEW YORK IS BLUE from the very beginning – we couldn’t thank you more for your continued support.

This was a New York win. Like New Yorkers, our team showed resilience, perseverance, mental toughness and grit to fight to the end, winning 3 of our 4 playoff matches in hostile environments away from home and in dramatic fashion. And even though the team was miles away, you showed up... first in New England, then Philly and finally, in Portland. It was clear throughout this playoff run that we have the best fans in MLS!

It is important to not only celebrate our big victories together, but also stand side-by-side when times get tough. I think we’d all agree that throughout the season, David Lee, Ronny Deila, and our squad set this tone and example – and made us (and our City) extremely proud. The guys showed us how to persevere, to never give up, and to win. This is what we needed after two very challenging years of uncertainty brought by the pandemic.

Some of you may remember that I’m a big fan of lists, so now I’d like to take a moment to share my personal Top 10 Most Memorable Moments of 2021 – in no particular order. I hope these accomplishments make you as proud as I am of this Club and what we have all accomplished together.

1. Winning MLS Cup in PKs – I know we all held our breath as our team (twice!) won playoff games in PKs. I cannot think of a better example of poise and belief. Our inspirational Team Captain, and MLS Cup MVP, Sean Johnson, deserves a big shoutout here. Under his leadership, our team stayed calm and collected in extra time, and Sean came up HUGE with two massive saves to give us the momentum. I also have to give a major hat tip to Alex Callens who was as cool as can be converting the game winners against both New England and Portland. And speaking of leadership, who can forget Ronny’s “unique” post-game celebration? 😉

2. MLS Cup Watch Party at Hammerstein Ballroom – Back here in NYC, 3,000+ of you created one of the most amazing soccer atmospheres the City has ever seen. After the final whistle, our players, coaches and staff watched videos from this event in awe. We could feel your support from all the way across the country. I wish I could’ve been in two places at once!

3. Bringing the Cup Home to Our Fans – The weight of this moment really sunk in when we got to celebrate with our fans at City Hall. We all made history. And seeing you in the crowd cheering on our players as we lifted the trophy on home soil was truly epic.

4. Local & National Recognition – After bringing home the Cup, with the help of many of our partners throughout the City and State, we were literally able to show that NY IS BLUE. Over 20 iconic structures across New York – the Empire State Building, One World Trade Center, Grand Central Terminal, Niagara Falls, One Bryant Park, Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, and many more – were lit blue to celebrate our Championship. Our City Hall celebration was televised live across broadcast affiliates. We were invited to bring the Cup and ring the Closing Bell at the NY Stock Exchange. We brought the Cup to Barclays Center and were honored by the Nets. Ronny was the honorary captain and on-field for the coin toss at the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium, as well as in the booth with the ESPN announcers in the 3rd quarter. Ronny and Maxime had the Cup in Times Square for New Year’s Eve and were the guests of honor for the 11pm Hourly Countdown on live TV. And all of this is just the beginning…

5. Fans Back In-Stadium for Opening Day – We missed so badly having our fans at our games in 2020. We eagerly anticipated the opportunity to finally have fans back in 2021. Even though we started the season with limited capacities and socially distanced seating “pods,” the atmosphere that our fans still were able to bring to Yankee Stadium was truly memorable and inspirational for our guys on the pitch.

6. Home Playoff Win vs. Atlanta – The electric atmosphere at Yankee Stadium, where we packed the house with over 25,000 fans for our first-round playoff win against Atlanta, was one of the best sports atmospheres I have been a part of. You all rocked the house, and started our playoff run on the right foot.

7. Taty’s Golden Boot – Seeing Taty take home our Club’s first-ever Golden Boot was absolutely extraordinary. Taty has grown immensely as both a player and a person since joining the Club, and it has been a pleasure watching him become the composed and deadly striker we knew he would become. His trophy celebration at the Etihad City Football Academy, alongside a surprise appearance from his mother, felt like a real family celebration.

8. Flourishing Homegrown Talent – The 2021 season marked many achievements for our Academy and Homegrown players. James became the Club’s first Homegrown player to be named an MLS All-Star, while earning his first call up to the USMNT and playing a key role in the team’s Gold Cup-winning run this summer. And now, we are excited to see James develop in Europe. Although it’s tough to lose a player of his caliber, one that has been integral to our success over the past few years, it’s been his dream to play in Europe and we would do anything to support his career goals and ambitions. We’re proud that James will be joining an impressive group of NYCFC Academy products who are making an impact in Europe! Another great example, Tayvon - a Bronx-native - stepped up big time when Anton went down with his injury. At just 19 years old, Tayvon started every playoff game and became the 2nd youngest player to make an MLS Cup start bringing swagger on the field that you love to see. We’re also excited to start our first season in MLS NextPro this spring, improving the player pathway even more for our Academy talent. Developing the next generation of players is something we deeply believe in and is part of the ethos of our Club – and I am beyond happy to see this hard work come to fruition.

9. 50 Pitches Down, 26 More to Go – 2021 was our most significant year to date for our community work. After launching New York City Soccer Initiative (NYCSI) five years ago to build 50 mini-pitches through all five boroughs, we opened 13 more pitches this year to reach our goal! Creating these safe spaces for kids to play the sport we love has been amazing – and City in the Community (CITC) continues to deliver free programming for more than 10,000 New York City youth each year on these pitches in underserved communities. This is nothing short of a groundbreaking initiative, but we aren’t stopping here. While celebrating the completion of our 50th pitch in Chinatown in November, we announced a new commitment to construct and program another 26 mini-pitches across the City in the lead up to the 2026 World Cup along with our partners.

10. Commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion – We all know that 2020 was a hugely impactful moment for our country, NYC and our Club. Throughout the 2021 season, the Club continued to prioritize this vital work and take action to create much-needed change. As a second phase of our partnership with the Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF), we adopted a deserving JRF Scholar from the five boroughs and are funding a 4-year college scholarship. We also partnered with another incredible local organization, BronxWorks, to focus on investing in and creating educational opportunities for Bronx minority youth and we have continued our important work with NY Common Pantry. Just last month, we announced a new Coach Mentorship Program which will provide opportunities and increase representation for New York-based soccer coaches. Together with the Black Players for Change (BPC) and Black Women’s Player Collective (BWPC), we unveiled a mini-pitch in Harlem on Juneteenth at the Charles Young Playground in Harlem on Juneteenth and hosted our first Juneteenth Match.

While we are still savoring our historic 2021 MLS Cup victory, everyone at the Club is already laser-focused on making 2022 the best season yet for this Club and our fans. We are already planning a number of exciting new initiatives that we’re excited to roll out to all of you in the near future. There is so much to look forward to and be excited about in 2022 – especially with the season starting earlier.

As I mentioned in my remarks at City Hall, there are a lot of things that we want to accomplish together at NYCFC, but our top two ambitions that stand above all others are: (1) Win Trophies and (2) Build a Stadium – our players and fans deserve both! I promise that we won’t stop pursuing more trophies and that we will build a soccer-specific stadium for you in the five boroughs! We are enthusiastic about the potential of a few locations and remain as committed as ever to working with our fans, the local community groups, and elected officials to deliver the privately funded, soccer-specific stadium that you all deserve. We know how important this is and how transformative it will be for the Club; we also believe it will have a tremendously positive impact on the community.

I’m sure you are as excited as I am to see our Boys in Blue – the ones with a star above our badge – take the field in 2022. It’s coming fast. Pre-season training starts in less than two weeks and our first CONCACAF Champions League match is in Costa Rica on February 15th. Circle your calendar for our Home Opener on Saturday, March 12th vs. Montreal at 1pm at Yankee Stadium – as well as the Campeones Cup against LigaMX Champion Atlas at Yankees Stadium on September 14th. This is a one-game winner-take-all to win a(nother) trophy and be Champion of all of North America.

Our appreciation for your continued support and the passion you show for this Club cannot be understated. You are the heartbeat of this Club. THANK YOU!

Come On New York!

Cheers,

Brad

NYCFC Ticketing

LineBreak

(September 28, 2021)

Dear City Members,

I hope this message finds you all safe and healthy. Though the Derby on Saturday evening was certainly not the result we all wanted, and know our team is capable of, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you – our City Members – and all NYCFC fans in attendance for creating a truly electric atmosphere at Yankee Stadium. With over 21,000 passionate fans in the stadium, Saturday marked our largest attendance of the season – and we have heard repeatedly from Ronny and our players about the incredible energy you created.

Speaking of Yankee Stadium, we wanted to get in touch today and provide clarity around what you can expect for the remainder of 2021 and 2022 from a venue perspective in light of the upcoming MLB playoffs and additional scheduling info we now have.

We know that playing home games at Red Bull Arena is far from ideal. Our match on 9/14 earlier this month marked the second time this season that we’ve had to shift a home game originally scheduled at Yankee Stadium to Red Bull Arena – and unfortunately, both of these moves happened in the span of one month. We know this is hugely frustrating for our City Members and fans, and we were disappointed to be forced to do so. I want to take this opportunity to reiterate to you that regularly playing games at Red Bull Arena is not our plan moving forward.

Remainder of 2021

  • Next up, we play Nashville SC this Sunday October 3rd at Red Bull Arena at 12pm.
  • The home games scheduled for October 23rd (DC) and October 27th (Chicago) at Red Bull Arena and the Decision Day match November 7th (Philly) at Yankee Stadium have some potential variability that we want to share with you. All of this is outlined in the table at the end of this email, but as you will see, it is possible that two of these matches will move back to Yankee Stadium.
  • It is also important to note that ALL potential NYCFC home playoff games will be played at Yankee Stadium.

Looking ahead to 2022

  • We are working closely with the MLS League Office, the Yankees and the Mets on our schedule for next season. The plan is to play as many games as we can at Yankee Stadium; however, based on the 2022 MLS scheduling template (which includes holds for FIFA breaks and a number of other competitions such as CONCACAF Champions League, US Open Cup and Leagues Cup) we already know that Yankee Stadium will not be available for all 17 home games. We’re working with the Mets to secure Citi Field as our secondary venue. As it is currently trending, we are likely to play roughly 2/3 of next year’s home matches at Yankee Stadium with the plan to schedule the remaining matches at Citi Field.
  • The inevitable follow-up question is whether there is any chance we will be playing at Red Bull Arena in 2022. Let me be clear, we are not planning to schedule any MLS 2022 regular season home matches at Red Bull Arena. However, if we find ourselves with a conflict for any reason (such as the Yankees rainout makeup games this season) and neither Yankee Stadium nor Citi Field are available, then Red Bull Arena would be our third venue option. Again, if we do have to play any 2022 matches at RBA, these of course will all be optional for City Members.

Again, we cannot thank you enough for your support. You are the soul of this Club and continue to drive us forward. We understand this has been an especially challenging season, not only because of venue changes, but because of the complicated world we live in and hope you and your families are still doing well. We are extremely excited for what’s to come down the stretch this season and we remain confident in our squad and feel strongly that we have a team that can (and will!) compete for MLS Cup.Always For The City,Brad

2021 – Venue Scenarios for Remaining Home Game

10/3 - Red Bull Arena

10/23 & 10/27 - Red Bull Arena, though these games would move back to Yankee Stadium if the Yankees do not advance past the American League Division Series. If the Yankees do advance to the American League Championship Series, the games will remain at Red Bull Arena.

11/7 - Yankees Stadium, though MLB recently amended the 2021 playoff schedule so that Game 7 of the World Series is now scheduled on 11/3. There is a scenario that if the Yankees are in the World Series – and they are hosting Game 6 or Game 7 – that our 11/7 Yankee Stadium home game could get relocated to Red Bull Arena.

Playoffs - All potential NYCFC home playoff games will be played at Yankee Stadium.

Dear City Member,

On behalf of the entire NYCFC family, we would like to once again thank you for your continued support through the many twists and turns that 2021 has presented. We have appreciated your unwavering support as we work to navigate through challenging moments and continue growing and improving together.

As the 2022 season approaches, we want you to have increased flexibility and options when it comes to your Membership. This includes the ability to make changes to your current seat location before our 2022 season kicks off. We hope our Seat Relocation Event will give you the chance to get those aisle seats you’ve been looking for, move closer to the pitch, or add on seats for friends or family.

Like last year, we will be utilizing a virtual venue to allow you to make changes to your seat location from home or any other location digitally. Based on Membership tenure, we will unlock your access and allow you to make changes at your individual timeslot. From this time until September 30th at 11:59pm ET, you will be able to make any changes you want.

If you love your current seats and do not wish to move, you do not need to take any further action.

Again, thank you for being a valued City Member!
Matt Goodman

A few additional notes:

  • Once your access is unlocked, you will see a countdown on your Account Manager that will allow you to access the available seats until the relocation event closes on September 30th.
  • Once you relocate your seats, you will no longer have access to the virtual venue, and will need to contact your representative directly if you wish to make any later changes.
  • If you would like to relocate to a section that is of lesser value than your current seat – or decrease your total number of seats – you will need to contact your NYCFC rep to make these changes rather than go through the online portal.

Dear City Member,

The Yankees rain-out on August 21st has impacted our NYCFC match on September 14th vs. FC Dallas at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees have rescheduled their game for September 13th at 2:05pm and, as a result, we have had to relocate our match vs. FC Dallas on September 14th to Red Bull Arena with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

We know this venue change is far from ideal and have done everything we can to try to find an alternative date at Yankee Stadium. Ultimately, rescheduling at Yankee Stadium was not possible and we are disappointed to have to change plans, especially for our Members. But, we do want to assure you that with this venue change, money that was applied towards this match at Yankee Stadium will now be credited back to your account balance. As previously stated, all matches played at Red Bull Arena will continue to be 100% optional for Members to attend.

As always, the team would love to see you at Red Bull Arena. If you can make it, please see below for instructions on how to secure your seats.

  • Click here for step-by-step instructions and a video to guide you through the process of accessing tickets for the September 14th match.
  • Click here to get your tickets now!

Similar to previous matches, Red Bull Arena has a strict bag policy that prohibits anyone from entering the stadium with a bag. To view all policies related to Red Bull Arena, please click here.

If you have any questions at all, continue to reach out to your NYCFC Rep.

Dear City Member,

Let me start by thanking you for your feedback, dialogue and patience. After a number of direct, 1-on-1 conversations as well as Town Halls – both virtually and in-person – we heard you and want to ensure that you feel your City Membership is as valuable as ever. We appreciate your passion for this Club...THANK YOU!

From our conversations, we've aggregated the main topics and want to share with you the plan to address the issues we heard most. Please see below.

Again, I want to thank everyone for your constructive feedback; as many heard me say, our members are what make this a football Club.

Variable Pricing

We understand that we did not clearly articulate variable pricing at the beginning of the season. In a normal season, as we did in 2019, variable pricing will be given to Members after the schedule release and before the first match. Due to unforeseen scheduling challenges in 2020 and 2021, we were unable to do this.
You have our word that when we return to normalcy in 2022, you will have a full outline of your individualized variable pricing plan for the 2022 season before the first match

Ticket Prices

I want to make it very clear - if you did not use your credit to upgrade your seats during the 2021 season, you will not be charged above and beyond your 2021 Membership cost Furthermore, if/when we are able to move our home matches on Oct. 23 and Oct. 27 back to Yankee Stadium, we will honor the lower Red Bull Arena pricing for all City Members. We will not allocate the Tier 2 pricing that was originally listed in your variable pricing. These are deliberate changes and updates we want to make for our Members.

Member Benefits

We will continue to provide City Member rollover benefits at every home match this season. These include F&B gift cards, merchandise gift cards and bonus credits – as well as signed items, parking passes and in-person events (coming soon).

Ticket Trade-In Program

We have always allowed Members to trade-in tickets to a limited number of games each season – but in the past, trade-in credits needed to be used prior to the end of the regular season. For this year, your trade-in credit from 2021 can be rolled over and applied to your 2022 Membership balance. We're excited to offer this policy to our Members for this season. Additionally, we have decided to increase the trade-in program and make it more flexible by allowing Members to trade-in for three (3) matches instead of the two (2) that we had originally communicated. As a reminder, tickets need to be traded-in at least 24-hours prior to the match.

Venue

Assuming a full "return to normalcy" with no COVID related restrictions, our plan for 2022 (and subsequent seasons, leading up to having our own NYC Stadium) is to play as many home games as possible at Yankee Stadium, with Citi Field as our primary alternate venue. If, for reasons outside of our control, we are forced to play any home games outside of the five boroughs, those games will remain optional for City Members to attend

Overall Communication

Based on your feedback, we will be holding at least quarterly City Member Town Hall Meetings with NYCFC leadership team and Sporting Department. We will be in regular communication when these are scheduled.

New York is back! Local and state regulations now allow us – and all NY sports teams – to return to full capacity with no restrictions at home games – we cannot wait!

This means, when we return to Yankee Stadium on July 25th, all Members will return to their original Membership Seat(s). Your seat(s) will automatically be loaded in your respective account on Friday July 16th at 12:00 pm and will be available for you to review and manage.

A few pieces of info regarding pricing for these matches:

  • Consistent with what we’ve done in the past, Yankee Stadium tickets will be variably priced based on different factors including opponent, day of the week, etc.
  • You will also find League’s Cup on 8/11 at 8:00pm vs. Pumas, included in the pricing. As this game is anticipated to be a very popular match, we didn’t want you to miss out on attending in YOUR seats. We’ve added this to your account and deducted it from your balance. To opt out click HERE.
  • As a reminder, all remaining Red Bull Arena matches will still be 100% optional for Members to attend.
  • We wanted to notify our Members first that we have a new change to the schedule. Because of a Yankees rainout, we have a scheduling conflict on August 14th. This match against Inter Miami FC will be moved from Yankee Stadium to Red Bull Arena. We know this is far from ideal, and want to reiterate that this match will be fully optional for you and all Members to attend.
  • As we’ve done during previous seasons, we will implement a ticket trade-in policy. Full details and instructions on how to utilize this program will be sent in a separate email.
  • Please note that there are a few matches that could get moved back to Yankee Stadium. If these matches get moved back, your seats will be automatically uploaded! Below, you’ll find the matches, opponents, and pricing associated with these specific matches: Tuesday, Sept 14 (LC Semifinal), Saturday, Oct 23 (vs. DC United), Wednesday, Oct 27 (vs. Chicago Fire)

**If/when we win the first round of League’s Cup, we will move onto the League’s Cup Semifinals which is included above.

Dear City Members,

What a win on Saturday! It was great for us, and the Boys, to have you back in the stands at the match this past weekend.

We know this season is different, and as I’ve shared, we will continue to be in regular communication with our City Members to inform you of updates in real-time.

As you have read in previous communications, the original timing for 2022 payment plans was to begin on May 15th. That is changing... After speaking to many of you, and because we want to be as flexible as possible, we will no longer be charging Members for your first payment of the 2022 season on May 15th. Instead, we will push back your payment plan schedule, along with the 30-day City Member opt-out window for the 2022 season; the new opt-out window will now be May 15th through June 14th.

Shortly, we’ll be in touch with the following:

  • How to receive your 2020 Member rollover benefits at the May 15th home match.
  • Detailed information around your 2022 payment plan options.
  • Additional details on the opt-out window.
  • On-sale ticket info for our two May home games.

Please continue to reach out to your rep, seed list default, if you have any questions in the meantime.

Next up, a road trip to Philly for our Boys. Let’s go City!

Dear City Members,

We had lots of conversations following last week’s schedule announcement and want to continue regular communication.

We are putting final touches on Stadium and Fan Safety Protocols and you’ll get details ASAP about the Member-Only Seat Selection for our home opener on April 24th if you would like to attend this match. Again, this match is fully optional – and you will have first dibs to select tickets during our Seat Selection event from April 7-8.

In the meantime, I would like to clarify a few points:

  • Games at Red Bull Arena: In 2021, all NYCFC home games at RBA are fully optional for City Members. Only if you choose to attend will your account credit be debited for the price of the tickets you select.
  • Games at Yankee Stadium: While there are COVID-related restrictions, all NYCFC home games are fully optional for City Members. This includes our home opener on April 24th. As a City Member, you have full optionality whether or not to attend. Your account credit will not be debited if you do not select this match.
  • If/when we are back to 100% capacity at Yankee Stadium, City Membership and payment terms will resume as normal.
  • Conclusion of the 2021 Season
  • If Members have leftover (unused) money on account, that total will be automatically rolled over and applied to the 2022 season.
  • Members may instead choose to opt-out of the 2022 season Membership and receive a refund for any unused funds on account.
  • Seating: Due to COVID protocols, there will be socially-distanced POD seating to start the season. This is in accordance with CDC guidelines. Following standard venue protocol with socially-distanced POD seating, there is a requirement to select all seats in a POD (i.e. PODS come in 2-seat or 4-seat options). To maintain POD integrity, resale/transfer of tickets is not available outside of family members.
  • Due to COVID protocols, we will be implementing temporary seating locations – this is likely a different location than your normal City Member assigned seat(s).

We hope the above makes sense and proves to be flexible and fitting for your individual needs. We are always here if you have further feedback and we’ll continue to work with you to strengthen the experience and keep you rooting for our Boys in Blue. We’ll be in touch again soon.

(March 24, 2021)

Dear City Members,

We’re back to officially kick off the 2021 season! I’m sure we can all agree… it’s about time!

I’m reaching out today for two main reasons: 1) we want to provide clarity around this year’s schedule and 2) we want to ensure you have key updates around 2021 City Member tickets.

First up... schedule. Earlier today, we finalized and announced our 2021 Regular Season Schedule. You’ll see that we are playing a full 34-game regular season format, with our 17 home games currently split between Yankee Stadium and Red Bull Arena (and a potential for two of the RBA games to revert back to Yankee Stadium). While we certainly acknowledge this is not ideal – and may even be frustrating for some of you – we want to make sure you understand the ‘why.’

  • Yankee Stadium is always our ideal home, but we continue navigating a complex situation in a post-COVID world.
  • For 2021, MLS has standardized the playing windows for all teams to avoid fixture congestion throughout the season; this change is an attempt to ensure that all teams have a more equitable amount of time to rest between matches. Based on MLS match scheduling windows, Yankee Stadium was only available for 9/34 total windows, so we had to find another solution.
  • From a competitive standpoint, consistency and quality of a second venue are top priorities – Red Bull Arena provides both.

Winning is the goal of this Club. As said above, pitch consistency and quality give us the best chance to win. Our objective will always be to raise a trophy at the end of the season.

Now... onto ticketing info. Since we will be starting the season with limited capacity per the state’s health and safety guidelines, we’re going to be very intentional in your City Member offering and continue to evaluate the situation on monthly basis.

  • If you want to attend the home opener on Saturday, April 24th, you’ll have the first opportunity via an exclusive Member Seat Selection on April 5th.
  • Be on the lookout next week for an email outlining this process – including detailed videos and instructions on how to select your seats.
  • At this time, only NYCFC’s first home match will be made available.
  • We will make future games available on a monthly basis.
  • Per the state’s health and safety guidelines, fans in attendance at Yankee Stadium will be required to show proof of negative result from a PCR or rapid antigen COVID-19 test within 72 hours of kickoff – or provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination.

We appreciate you being patient as we work through all the moving pieces and prepare for what’s sure to be an extraordinary season. I’ll continue to say – NYCFC would not be here without your loyalty. We continue to be humbled and motivated by your dedication to this Club and our City.

Our Ticketing team is always here to answer any remaining questions you may have; do not hesitate to reach out to them. Please be kind to whoever you speak with; they’re working with the most updated information \at the moment \around local guidelines for fans attending games. We will be in constant communication given the fluid situation – and we’ll continue to update the Member Hub.

Always #ForTheCity,

Matt Goodman

City Members,

I recently celebrated my one-year anniversary at NYCFC – and let me tell you, it has been a wild ride. One thing I know for certain after reflecting on the past year is just how critical you are to this Club. I have said it many times before – but it is worth reiterating – how grateful we are to have you in our NYCFC Family. With this in mind, we want to do more for our Members – especially at a time when we aren’t able to be together in person.

With that, let me introduce our first-ever Member Hub! Here, you will find lots more Club info, Member-only offers and Member-specific how-to videos outlining mobile ticket access, seat selection processes, ticket transfers/sales, etc. We’ll also be kicking off an “Ask an NYCFC Exec” series so you can get more details directly from our Leadership Team.

Two additional updates:

  • You should be receiving your 2021 Member box in the coming days; we hope you love it! If you don't receive it, please reach out to your rep. We’ll get you sorted.
  • You also should have received the 2021 City Member survey. We’d love if you could take a few minutes to complete the survey and we’ll use your feedback to inform our decision-making moving forward. All City Members who submit the survey by Friday, March 5 will be entered for a chance to win a 2021 Home Kit.

Looking forward to what’s sure-to-be an exciting 2021 season with all of you by our side.

2021 City Member Survey

As Brad mentioned in his last email to you all, our team has developed a new survey for our City Members. The aim of this is to collect and use your feedback to inform our decision-making for the 2021 season.

We want to hear your thoughts on key Members-only topics and priorities relating to ticketing and seating capacity in our current Covid-impacted world. The health and safety of our fans, players and staff continue to be our top priority and we’re working closely with local and state officials to establish protocols for the start of the 2021 MLS season. We’re optimistic, based on Governor Cuomo’s announcement last week, that we will be able to start our season in April with fans. For any restricted capacity scenario (< 100% capacity), tickets for games will be optional, with City Members given first priority to select any/all matches they wish to attend.

Please fill this out and make sure your voice is heard. And if you have any questions whatsoever, our reps are standing by to help out. And…City Members who complete the survey by Friday, March 5, will be entered for a chance to win a 2021 Home Kit! (Click here to read the Terms & Conditions).
