New York City FC can confirm four players have been selected to represent their country in September.
Defenders Alex Callens, Maxime Chanot, James Sands, and Gudi Thórarinsson will be jetting off to join their respective national teams ahead of World Cup Qualifiers.
Here’s everything you need to know.
Alex Callens
Fellow defender Alex Callens will fly out as part of Ricardo Gareca’s Peru squad ahead of games against Uruguay, Venezuela, and Brazil.
The defender was part of Gareca’s Copa América squad this past summer and helped his country to an impressive fourth-place finish.

Maxime Chanot
The talented defender has amassed over 40 caps for his country since making his debut in June 2013 and will edge closer towards 50 if he participates in Luxembourg’s three fixtures in September.
The Red Lions are currently preparing for World Cup Qualifiers against Azerbaijan and Serbia before facing Qatar in a friendly.

James Sands
Joining the trio in departing for national team duty is James Sands.
The Club’s first Homegrown signing celebrated his senior international debut with the United States this summer during the Gold Cup, and that form has earned him a consecutive selection by Gregg Berhalter.
Sands and his teammates will start the month on the road as they face El Salvador before returning to the United States to take on Canada.
They finish out the trio of World Cup Qualifiers with a trip to Honduras as they look to set an early pace in their group.

Gudi Thórarinsson
Elsewhere, Gudi Thórarinsson celebrated another call-up to the Icelandic national team after returning to the fold earlier this year.
