New York City FC was founded For The City, with a deep commitment to champion access to soccer for all New Yorkers.

NYCFC’s sixth consecutive Pride match took place on Sunday, May 22nd vs Chicago Fire at Citi Field where we were honored to once again partner with our friends at Athlete Ally and the Hetrick-Martin Institute to mark this celebration of self-affirmation, dignity, equality and increased visibility for New York’s LGBTQI+ community.

Our Club’s commitment to equality and access to soccer extends beyond one match, or a month of recognition, but the Pride Night game was an opportunity to raise awareness for Athlete Ally’s mission to end homophobia and transphobia in sport and to activate the football community in championing LGBTQI+ equality.

Fans gathered before the match at the Jackie Robinson Rotunda outside of Citi Field for a Pride edition of our NYCFC Fan Fest. Fans were also offered the opportunity to purchase 2 tickets for $50 with $10 of that purchase going back to Athlete Ally and the Hetrick-Martin Institute to benefit furthering the missions of both organizations.

Playing for Pride brings together athletes, teams, and leagues to support Athlete Ally's mission of making sports inclusive for the LGBTQI+ community.

Proceeds to Athlete Ally will support our work to champion LGBTQI+ inclusion at all levels in sport through education, inclusive policies and athlete activism.

NYCFC hosted their fifth consecutive Pride match on June 26 vs. D.C. United, once again partnering with Athlete Ally to mark the celebration of self-affirmation, dignity, equality and increased visibility for New York’s LGBTQI+ community.

NYCFC supported Athlete Ally by Playing for Pride. This year, Athlete Ally donated 50% of proceeds up to a 5K donation to the Black Women's Player Collective - a nonprofit organization that elevates the image, value, and representation of Black women as athletes and leaders in business, industry, and public and private institutions.

Wore "Love Unites" training tops during warm-up. "Love Unites" is adidas’ global campaign promoting equity in sport and reinforcing how the love of sport unites us all.

Hosted raffle to raise money for Athlete Ally. Proceeds to Athlete Ally supported work to champion LGBTQI+ inclusion at all levels in sport through education, inclusive policies and athlete activism. Winner won a Maxime Chanot signed Pride jersey.

Hosted third annual LGBTQI+ Pride Match with players wearing rainbow pattern jersey numbers. NYC Gay Men’s Chorus Tonewall sang the national anthem and LGBTQI+ advocate Natalie Negrotti set off the smokestacks.
