Keys to the Match | Montreal Impact vs. NYCFC

keys @ montreal

NYCFC is back on the road to take on the Impact for the second time this season, and three points is the mission. These are the keys to getting back to winning ways in Montreal, presented by Tri-State Ford…

Refuse to Lose

While draws have been a hot topic of debate on Twitter, there’s no denying that New York City’s Football Club is unbeaten in five, and an away win in Montreal would mark the start of a road winning streak for the fifth time in league play for the Boys in Blue.

It will certainly be a tough test in this weekend’s marquee matchup, as Montreal is streaking themselves to the tune of eight unbeaten at Stade Saputo (6W-2D).

Hot Hot Héber

NYC’s unbeaten run coincides with the arrival of our guy Héber, who has scored two and set up two in three starts for City so far.

His hot start has been good enough for 1.3 goals + assists per 90 minutes - better than any player’s first 273 minutes in our club’s short history.

Here’s to hoping Héber can keep it going For The City.

Next Man Up

Three are reported as “Questionable” for City’s clash with the Impact, but there is no question that a bounty of Blues will be ready to go against a stout Montreal back line that has only been scored on by three teams in league play this year.

Domé provided some insight after a training session this week:

Oh Canada!

New York City has enjoyed some success when playing north of the boarder, especially in Montreal, where we have yet to lose in four plus seasons, and the City Boys are working to make sure Season 5 is no different.

Big moments from past Boys in Blue come to mind whenever traveling to the City of Saints, and this is a great opportunity for one of the newer blues to introduce themselves to the fans in similar fashion.

Together

Speaking of the fans, the Road Blues will be behind us once again in MTL (don’t forget your passports!).

Back in the City, there’s a watch party / Alexander Callens' Birthday bash at Bierhaus on Third Ave, so be sure to pull up to that or check in with your local NYCFC Pub Partners and supporters clubs for details on where people are linking up to support our city – because we’re always stronger together.
