Soccer Day: Which Classic NYCFC Match Should Re-Air?

David Villa vs Chicago Fire

Soccer Day is coming to New York City on Monday October 15.

As part of a day-long celebration of the beautiful game in the Five Boroughs, YES Network is broadcasting 12 hours of soccer content which include a re-run of a classic NYCFC match originally broadcasted on YES.

We selected one game from each of our four seasons for your consideration, with the winner being selected for a complete 90 minute re-run on October 15.

It’s a tough choice, but you can only select one… which will it be?

NYCFC 3-1 DC United (August 13, 2015)

A season one spectacular which saw Tommy Mc, David Villa and Poku all on the scoresheet as 28k inside Yankee Stadium witnessed a stirring comeback.

NYCFC 3-2 DC United (September 1, 2016)

Frank Lampard Late Show. Enough said.

NYCFC 2-1 Chicago (July 22, 2017)

An instant Bronx classic. Yangel Herrera’s controversial early red card left City as underdogs in this heavyweight bout with Bastian Schweinsteiger’s Chicago but David Villa put in a performance for the ages to lead 10-man NYCFC to an unforgettable win on a sweltering July day.

NYCFC 3-1 FC Dallas (April 29, 2018)

From the current season, we couldn’t overlook the game which saw El Guaje score his 400 and 401st goals of his career as the Boys in Blue handily defeated FC Dallas.
