David Villa remains out for NYCFC after coming off in the first half of the win over Toronto FC last Sunday at Yankee Stadium.


He joins Ronald Matarrita, Cedric Hountondji, and Yangel Herrera on the OUT list as the Boys in Blue make their way to the Midway for a showdown with the Chicago Fire.

  • Since losing the first meeting between the two clubs, New York City FC is unbeaten against the Chicago Fire (3W-3D), averaging 2.2 goals per game.
  • The Fire are unbeaten in their last four matches, which includes the current run of three straight draws (1W). They have not drawn four consecutive league games since doing so in six straight in March-Apr. 2014.
  • This will be the Cityzens’ first league road game in more than a month (most recent: 3-1 loss to Houston on May 25th. They are winless in their last five MLS matches away from home (3L- 2D), conceding 2.8 goals per game.
  • Brandt Bronico has three assists in four appearances in June, tied for the second most of any MLS player.
  • NYCFC have conceded eight headed goals this year, the most of any team in the league.

  • David Villa has 51 total shots this season, making it the fourth straight season he has registered at least 50 shots for NYCFC in league action.
