academy call up

Two NYCFC academy players will be competing in the 2017 U-15 CONCACAF Championship in Bradenton, Florida with the US U-15 Youth National Team.

Defender Joseph Scally and forward Giovanni Reyna, both members of NYCFC's U-15s, will join up with the USYNT ahead of the tournament, for which the squad was drawn into Group B alongside Trinidad & Tobago, Canada, and Costa Rica. The United States will be competing in Division 1 of the tournament, which is the only division eligible to compete in the semi-finals and finals.

This is just the second-ever edition of the tournament, and marks the first time the United States will be competing for the title.

The U.S. will kick off their tournament run on August 13th against Canada, followed by a match-up with Trinidad & Tobago on the 14th, and will close out the group stage against Costa Rica on Wednesday, August 16th. If the U.S. U-15s finish first or second in their group, they'll play in the semi-final round on August 17th, with a view to competing in the tournament final on August 19th.
