The names in Patrick Vieira's squad to face the New York Red Bulls today will look very similar to those that defeated the Seattle Sounders a week ago.
RJ Allen will start his second match in a row at right fullback, while Ben Sweat will line up on the opposite side. Between them will be the pairing of Alexander Callens and Maxime Chanot. Chanot was away on international duty with Luxembourg the last time NYCFC took on the Red Bulls.
In the midfield, Alexander Ring will play behind Yangel Herrera and Tommy McNamara. This will be Herrera's first-ever appearance in the Hudson River Derby.
Jack Harrison returns to the wing this time out, after swapping positions with McNamara and playing centrally last weekend. Opposite him will be Rodney Wallace, who went the full 90 minutes in last weekend's washout.
Ronald Matarrita returns to the matchday squad, and he is joined on the bench by Eirik Johansen, Ethan White, Mikey Lopez, Sean Okoli, Frederic Brillant, Andrea Pirlo, and Miguel Camargo.
NYCFC XI: Johnson; Allen, Chanot, Callens, Sweat; Ring, Herrera, McNamara; Harrison, Wallace; Villa (C)
NYCFC Subs: Johansen, White, Lopez, Okoli, Brillant, Pirlo, Matarrita, Camargo
