Mix Diskerud had a memorable Major League Soccer debut.
The New York City FC midfielder scored the Club's first-ever goal with a side-footed effort to the far post in the 76th minute in a 1-1 draw against fellow expansion side Orlando City SC in front of 62,510 fans on March 8 at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla.
Not only has that finish gone down in Club history books, it has also been nominated for the MLS AT&T Goal of the Week. Mix is joined by Los Angeles forward Robbie Keane, Seattle Sounders forward Clint Dempsey, Toronto FC striker Jozy Altidore and New York Red Bulls midfielder Lloyd Sam for Week 1 honors.
