Carolina Challenge Cup: New York City FC faces Orlando City SC

New York City FC gets its first taste of Major League Soccer this weekend as a pair of expansion clubs face off in the first day of action at the 2015 Carolina Challenge Cup.


The Club faces Orlando City SC at 7:30 p.m. EST on Saturday at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, S.C.


Coincidentally, both teams open their inaugural MLS campaigns against one another on March 8 in Florida.


New York City FC is coming off a 1-1 record in preseason friendlies during a spell in Manchester, England. The Club beat St Mirren 2-0 but lost 2-0 to Brondby before returning to the United States.
