Here are your nominees for the Etihad Player of the Month for September 2023.
The 22-year-old is beginning to settle in the Five Boroughs and his teammates are feeling the benefit of that fact.
Bakrar has been a constant threat in the final third during September, helping the team collect nine points in the process. Arguably his finest moment during September came against Orlando City when he followed up Santiago Rodríguez's penalty to head home the rebound.
A team player who gives NYCFC a different dimension in the final third, Bakrar is becoming an increasingly important part of the team with each passing game.
Rodríguez is a major part of the team's attack and has not shied away from increased responsibility in 2023.
The Uruguayan is a versatile and dynamic forward who showed his quality in September. Rodríguez started the month with an assist against the Vancouver Whitecaps before notching another against Toronto FC. That alone helped NYCFC to claim four vital points in the hunt for a playoff spot.
He rounded out the month with a sensational strike against Inter Miami CF. His solo run and finish gave the Boys in Blue the lead and ultimately helped maintain their unbeaten streak.
The talented young forward has enjoyed a big season with NYCFC.
After waiting patiently for game time during the first half of the season Jasson has grabbed his opportunity in the second part of the campaign. He notched his first goal for the Club in July, before building on that with another goal in August.
His bid to maintain that momentum was successful in September, with the 22-year-old scoring again and providing an assist. It was his cross for Talles Magno that sealed victory against Orlando City SC, and he then found the net in the following game against Toronto FC with a smart turn and finish inside the area.
A tricky and dangerous attacker, Jasson has come up big for the Boys in Blue when it mattered most.
