NYCFC has had an eventful month, winning three out of three home games to continue their unbeaten streak at Yankee Stadium in 2018.
There were a lot of stand-out performers, but there can only be one. Vote below!
Sean Johnson
Sean Johnson has been having a great month. Aside from making a few crucial stops at key moments throughout all games this month to help his team win, NYCFC’s ‘keeper hit two club records – reaching the longest shutout streak in NYCFC history (a total of 434 minutes) and hitting the most consecutive shutouts (4 games).
Anton Tinnerholm
The #TinnerBOOM was in full effect this month, scoring twice in two separate games to earn his side the three points. The first was against Columbus Crew where he scored in the 90th minute to defeat the Crew and make it nine out of nine points in three home games this month, keeping the Boys in Blue undefeated at Yankee Stadium in 2018. The second was during NYCFC’s first road victory since March – scoring in the first half to defeat Orlando City.
Maxi Moralez
Moralez also scored twice this month, with one of them being a crucial win against the Red Bulls. Thanks to Maxi Moralez’s 85th minute winner, NYCFC made it three Hudson River Derby home wins in a row. Moralez also played a part in NYCFC’s first road victory since March – scoring a first half goal against Orlando City to help earn his team the win.
Jesus Medina
NYCFC’s youngest DP scored in three out of five games and earned himself the title of NYCFC.com’s Star of the Match twice this month. The Paraguayan international scored one of the goals of the season for NYCFC against Montreal Impact where he also had an outstanding performance, exchanging passed with Moralez all night long. He also broke the deadlock in the 80th minute to help defeat Columbus Crew at Yankee Stadium, and then scored in the 68th minute against Seattle Sounders two days ago.
