1. Before coming to New York City FC, Matarrita played for L.D. Alajuelense in Costa Rica where he had 67 appearances and scored four goals.
2. During his time at Alajuelense, Matarrita never recorded a red card.
3. This will not be the first time Matarrita has played against MLS teams. While playing with Alajulense, Matarrita played in the 2015 CONCACAF Champions League, which featured D.C. United and the Montreal Impact (who Alajulense loss to in the semi-finals).
