NEW YORK, February 8, 2024 – New York City FC II has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season. The team will play in 28 in-conference matches as MLS Next Pro enters its third year.
The ‘Boys in Blue’ will kick off their season in South Beach, Florida, as they take on Miami at DRV PNK Stadium on Sunday, March 17, New York City FC II will then begin a run of three home games at St. John’s University’s Belson Stadium in Queens.
The team’s home opener is on Wednesday, April 10 at 7:30pm ET against Chattanooga FC, who are embarking on their maiden season in MLS NEXT Pro. They’re one of two new independent clubs to join the league.
The first of three Hudson River Derby showdowns is slated to kick off on Wednesday, April 10 at 7:30pm ET, followed by Saturday, June 7, 2024, with both being held on home turf. New York City will cross the Hudson to Montclair State University on Sunday, August 11 at 7pm ET to close out the series against their hometown rivals.
The MLS NEXT Pro season kicks off on Friday, March 15 and will come to a close on Decision Day on Sunday, October 6 with a 1pm ET kick-off for Eastern Conference Teams. Playoffs will begin the weekend of October 18th.
This season will consist of 28 matches, split evenly between home and away, over a span of 30 weeks Each club will play opponents three times which will foster more regional rivalries between the clubs. There will be no cross-conference play.
