Keys to the match NCFC

New York City FC heads to Belson Stadium to take on North Carolina FC in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup.

Here are the Keys to the Match, presented by Tri-State Ford

New Beginnings

As many City Boys report to national team training camps the world over, the chances are big for several players to step up and shine on this special knockout stage.

The Open Cup provides a fantastic opportunity for some of the young American talent on the roster to take the reins and lead NYC to the next stage of the competition.

Some of the new looks the manager may pursue on Wednesday include Justin Haak, Keaton Parks, Juan Pablo Torres, and Daniel Bedoya.

Stay tuned to NYCFC.com for the official Starting XI about an hour before kick-off from Belson Stadium.

Familiar Territory

Wednesday’s match isn’t at Yankee Stadium, but it’s a home match in Queens and another chance to kick start our chase for a first-ever first-team trophy.

Belson Stadium serves as the home field for NYCFC Academy, and the first team has held training sessions on the turf this week to get used to their new surroundings.

When the 12th man shows up for the Boys in Blue, they show out, like on Pride Night last Thursday. The stands were packed and the fans were loud as City defeated FC Cincinnati 5-2 on a historical night.

If the City is on your side, there’s nothing you can’t do!

Beating the Odds

The US Open Cup is a single-elimination knockout tournament, and NYCFC has not advanced from the fourth round in our short four-year history in the competition.

It’s time to turn the tide…

Coming off a win and the extended 10 match unbeaten streak, City is confident and ready to take on the tournament once again.

It is in moments like these when Doménec Torrent will value his squad depth and versatility the most.

May the odds be in our favor!

For The City!

Head out to Belson Stadium tomorrow night to support your Boys in Blue as they start a run for the US Open Cup.

With the fourth round heating up we will need the whole NYCFC fam to pack the house and spur us on to a seminal win.
