New York City Football Club have confirmed the full list of squad numbers ahead of Saturday afternoon's MLS season opener against Nashville SC.

With a number of new additions let's get familiar with the roster as we head into a busy 2023 campaign for the Boys in Blue.

New international arrival Mitja Ilenič arrived in New York from the Slovakian side NK Domžale at the start of the year.

The right-back has impressed during preseason and will take the #35 shirt ahead of his debut MLS campaign.

Earlier this month left-back Braian Cufré joined NYCFC on loan from RCD Mallorca. The former Vélez Sarsfield defender has assumed the #3 jersey.

Another new face, goalkeeper Matt Freese, has chosen the #49 after being acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Union this offseason.

The highest number on the roster belongs to another new arrival - defender Tony Alfaro - with the former Seattle Sounders and D.C. United man choosing the #93.

Elsewhere, there has also been number changes for some familiar faces.

Goalkeeper Luis Barraza has taken the vacant #1 jersey, while forward Gabriel Pereira has traded the #38 for the #11 shirt.

He is joined in the new number club by compatriot Thiago Martins - the defender opting to replace his #5 jersey with the #13.
