NYCFC Youth Programs Operation & Safety Procedures & Protocols as detailed below. Procedures and Protocols were created consistent with New York State and US Soccer Return to Play Guidelines, as well as recommendations from local, state, federal, and international governing bodies, and are designed to exceed mandated requirements to create a safe and responsible return to play approach.  

All participants and families must comply with all guidelines to participate in the services scheduled to be delivered by NYCFC. Guidelines are subject to change based upon changes from health, sporting, and government regulatory bodies.

NYCFC Youth Programs Operation & Safety Procedures & Protocols

Pre-Training Arrival (Home Check): Prior to arrival, all parents or guardians of participants are required to do a health-screening of such participating players. Health screenings will be accompanied by an online survey that MUST be submitted to NYCFC prior to a participant’s arrival at the NYCFC-run event.

No player can attend training if within the fourteen (14) day period immediately preceding the NYCFC-run event (i) the player has experienced any of the symptoms listed below ;or (ii) the player have come in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19. The relevant list of symptoms are as follows:           

  1. Fever or chills
  2. Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  3. Fatigue
  4. Cough
  5. Muscle or body aches
  6. Loss of taste or smell
  7. Sore throat
  8. Congestion or runny nose
  9. Nausea or vomiting
  10. Diarrhea
  11. Headaches

Players are responsible for their own personal hygiene equipment (i.e. face-covering, hand sanitizer, towel, and water bottles). All items should be clearly labeled with the participants name. No sharing of personal hygiene equipment is permitted.

Players must bring their own water and/or water bottles. NYCFC recommends players bring 32oz of water along with a 16oz electrolyte-based drink

Players also must bring their own packed lunch each day. NYCFC camps are nut-free, any items that contain nut products are prohibited from camp.

Training Arrival: All players attending an NYCFC-run event shall arrive with one (1) parent or guardian.

-No player will be permitted inside the training facility without confirmation of player’s successful completion of the heath questionnaire.

-Unless otherwise directed by NYCFC, ALL players and parents/guardians wear a face covering upon entry and exit of the facility. Player’s can remove mask once directed to; parents will be instructed to leave the facility to reduce number of people on-site.

-Each participant group will have specified areas in which group members can leave their belongings. Player group stations will be marked by cones placed 10ft apart

-Coach stations will be located on the facility sidelines near the portion of the field on which they will be instructing.

During Training: Throughout training, coaches and players will adhere to social distancing protocols whenever possible.

-Coaches will wear face-coverings throughout each training session and will be coaching from a socially distanced (6ft) spacing, whenever possible.

-Players will not be required to wear a face-covering during physical activity as recommended by the New York Department of Health.

-Coaches will be the only people permitted to carry and adjust equipment on the field throughout the day. Players are not permitted to touch any of the equipment, and if they do, they must notify an NYCFC or Partner representative immediately.

-Training curriculum will be designed by NYCFC around activities and small-sided games in accordance with US Soccer Play-On guidelines. If players are not comfortable competing in any activities due to players’ inability to social distance while participating, they are welcome to refrain from participating in the activity.

During Snack & Lunch

-During specified times where players are seated to eat and drink, players will sit socially distanced from each other. If a player leaves their seating are or has finished, they will be required to put their mask back on for the remainder of the time.

-Player must wash their hands prior to snack/lunch and immediately after. Washing of hands can be with soap and water or the appropriate hand sanitizer.

-Sharing of food and drinks is strictly prohibited at all NYCFC programs

Training Check-Out:

-As noted above, except as otherwise directed all parents and players must wear a face covering when exiting the facility.

-Players to depart with an authorized parent or guardian, unless preauthorization has been given by a parent/guardian to Partner for a player to depart with a different individual. Players are recommended not to carpool.

In the event of a Positive COVID case-

-In the event of a Positive COVID case in an NYCFC program, contact tracing will immediately take place and any member who is an identified close contact will be notified.  

-The specific cohort of players that player or coach participated within will be shut down for the remainder of the week and will be advised to follow CDC quarantine & testing protocols. All players who are deemed a close contact and can no longer attend the program, will be issued a full refund for any applicable remaining days of camp.

-Players in other groups of the camp will be notified, as long as remaining players are not deemed a close contact, camp will continue as normal.

-In the event any camp or program must be canceled due to any COVID related reasons, all players will be issued a full refund.
