As a City Member, we want to make sure you’re getting the most possible value from your Membership. We understand you may not be able to make it to every match, so we are pleased to continue (with some exciting new features!) the Ticket Trade-in Program for the 2019 season. This program allows you to return tickets from matches you're not attending in exchange for City Tokens that can be used for seat upgrades or to add tickets for future matches. This way tickets won’t go unused.

City Members can trade-in tickets from up to eight (8) matches during the 2019 regular season. If you are returning tickets more than 48 hours in advance of a match, the value of the City Tokens you receive is equal to the price you paid for that match as part of your Membership. Tickets returned less than 48 hours before the scheduled kick-off time will receive 50% of the ticket price you paid. Variable pricing will apply.

 What are City Tokens?

City Tokens (or Tokens) are the value a City Member receives when he/she returns tickets for a match they will not be attending. Members must return tickets prior to the scheduled kick-off of each match to earn City Tokens. Tokens have no cash value, are not transferrable, and must be used prior to the end of the 2019 regular season.

 What is the "Return Tickets" feature?

Return Tickets" is a ticket management feature that allows you to return tickets from your City Membership for matches you're not attending in exchange for City Tokens that can be used for seat upgrades or to add tickets for future matches. Tickets must be returned prior to the start of the match.

 How do I return my tickets for City Tokens?

Download the NYCFC App, tap on Ticket Trade-in, and login with the primary email address listed on your City Member account. At that point, you'll be able to register, establish a PIN and then select matches to return in exchange for City Tokens.

 Can I add tickets for a match and have them located next to my original City Member seat locations?

We cannot guarantee seat availability, however, we recommend you return your original City Member seats first. Then use the “Add Tickets” function to obtain the required total number of tickets for that same match.

 How many times can I use this feature to return my tickets for City Tokens?

City Members can use "Return Tickets" for up to eight (8) matches during the 2019 regular season.

 How is the amount of City Tokens determined?

If you are returning tickets more than 48 hours in advance of the match, the value of the Tokens you receive is equal to the price you paid for that returned match as part of your Membership. Tickets returned less than 48 hours before the scheduled kick-off time will receive 50% of the ticket price. Variable pricing will apply.

 How many City Tokens will an additional ticket cost?

Tickets purchased with Tokens will reflect the City Member price for that match, taking variable pricing into account. Members are encouraged to visit the Variable Pricing page for a list of prices.

 How will variable pricing affect the Ticket Trade-in Program?

You will receive the variable value of the tickets you are returning to be used for seat upgrades or to add tickets for future matches.

 How are seat locations assigned when using the Trade-in Program to add or upgrade seats?

Seats are assigned based on availability within the price category you have selected.

 Can I downgrade my seats for a match using the Ticket Trade-in Program?

Yes, new for 2019 you can downgrade your seat location. Simply downgrade your seats by completing two (2) separate transactions. First return your seats, then add tickets back to your account for the same match. Please note, if you complete the exchange in a single transaction and the new seats are of equal or lesser value, you will not receive additional City Tokens for the difference in price and will be charged a $1 per ticket fee.

 Can I return tickets to a match at the end of the season today?

Yes, however the tickets for the match you wish to return must be paid in full. If you are on a payment plan and would like to make a pre-payment, please contact your Membership Services Executive.

 Can I return tickets that are not part of my City Membership, such as add-on tickets, in exchange for City Tokens?

No, only tickets that are part of your original City Membership package can be returned for Tokens.

 What is the deadline to trade-in my tickets to receive City Tokens?

If the "Return Tickets" feature is still active for a match and you can't attend, tickets may be returned until the scheduled kick-off of each match. Please note that the value of City Tokens received for the return is dependent on when you return. Tickets returned more than 48 hours prior to the match receive Tokens equal to the price you paid for that match as part of your Membership. Less than 48 hours and before kick-off would receive Tokens equal to 50% of the ticket price you paid.

 Once I've returned tickets, how do I use my City Tokens for seat upgrades or to add tickets for a future match?

Seat upgrades will be available to City Members and will close 45 minutes following kick-off. You can add tickets for future matches by using the “Add Tickets” feature.

 Can I use my City Tokens to pay off my current City Membership balance or use toward renewal of my membership?

City Tokens have no cash value, cannot be transferred or applied to your current Membership or toward your renewal and/or playoffs. Tokens are intended to enhance your experience for another match in your package.

 Can I redeem City Tokens for cash value?

No. City Tokens do not have any cash value.

 Can I use my City Tokens to purchase food & beverage or merchandise?

No, Tokens can only be used to upgrade your seats or add tickets for a future match.

 Can I use my City Tokens to purchase playoff tickets?

No, Tokens can only be used towards tickets for the regular season.

 Do City Tokens expire?

Yes. Any City Tokens accumulated during the 2019 regular season must be used by September 18, 2019 or 1 week prior to the last match still on account (whichever is earliest). Any unused Tokens on that date will automatically be applied to the last regular season match on account at the sole discretion of the Club. Tokens do not carry over to future seasons.

 Are City Tokens transferrable?

No. City Tokens are non-transferable and are only associated with the primary City Member's email address.

 What happens to my original seats?

Your original seats are returned to NYCFC and may be used by fans who are purchasing seats or upgrading their seats during the match.

 Can I sell my tickets via StubHub after returning tickets?

No, your barcodes will be deactivated after selecting "Return Tickets". This is not reversible, so please do not post any returned tickets for resale to avoid penalty.

 I used "Return Tickets" but then decided I can now attend the match. Can I cancel my trade-in and get my original seats back?

No. All transactions are final. You may, however, use your City Tokens via the “Add Tickets” feature to purchase additional tickets for the match, based on availability.

 If I only plan on using two of my four seats for a given match, can I return the other two seats?

Yes, you can select which specific seats are returned and exchanged for City Tokens.

 Can I trade-in matches over the phone or through email?

No. You may only return tickets and exchange for City Tokens through the NYCFC App on your mobile phone. Your Membership Services Executive is available to help walk you through the process.

 How can I view my City Token balance?

You can view your current City Token balance in the Fan Hub section of the Experience homepage located in the upper right corner.

 Can I extend the ability to return tickets or use City Tokens for a share partner?

No. The ability to return tickets and use City Tokens is assigned only to the email address of the primary City Member.

 How can I access tickets obtained through the Ticket Trade-in Program?

You can view your tickets on your mobile device via AccountManager or the trade-in platform. We recommend you transfer tickets to friends and family via AccountManager only.

 Will my original ticket(s) scan in once I have selected "Return Tickets"?

No. The barcode(s) on your original ticket(s) are deactivated and become invalid for entry.

 If I transferred my tickets to a friend and then they can't go and send those tickets back to me, can I return those for City Tokens?

No. Since the tickets (and the original barcodes) have been changed, the ability to return these tickets is deactivated.
