LaLiga Promises 2018

NYCFC's U-12 Academy will be traveling to Hoboken, NJ this week to kick off play in the fifth edition of the LaLiga Promises International Tournament. The prestigious 7v7 tournament will feature 16 teams in the U-12 age division.

Tournament Structure


The tournament is made up of a total of 16 teams; eight of which competed in LaLiga Santander during the 18/19 season and eight international teams. Each team will have a starting line-up of seven players and will play in Sinatra Park Soccer Field in Hoboken, NJ from June 28 - June 30. 


The teams are broken up into four groups of four where the top two teams from each group will qualify, setting eight clubs to be classified for the Quarterfinals.

History


The NYCFC U-12s competed in the tournament last year where they made it as far as the quarterfinals. They won against Liverpool FC and Valencia CF and drew against FC Barcelona in the group stages but fell to Inter de Milan in the quarterfinals.
