It has been a busy week for the City boys as they not only won their first game of the season on the road against the team that reigns top of the Eastern Conference, but they returned home and won their second in front of a crowd of more than 21,000 as we celebrated Bronx Borough Night. 


Since so much has happened in such a short amount of time, we've compiled the best content to catch you up on this week! Here's what you missed... 




A Night of Firsts


NYCFC jetted off to the nation's capital to face Wayne Rooney and D.C. United for the second time this season, the first ending in a goalless draw. This time around was different, the Boys in Blue came away with a 2-0 win - the first of the season. If you missed the game, read the recap or watch the highlights below! 

In line with a night of firsts, Héber earned his first start for NYCFC in which he scored his first goal and assisted Alexandru Mitriță's goal to help lock in the first three points of the season. Listen to what the Man of the Match had to say about his big night! 

Héber also earned his first spot on the MLS Team of the Week, well deserved!

Let's just take a second to appreciate the Brazilian's signature celebration.. 

The offense wasn't the only side of the team that showed up that night, so did the defense. Watch as James Sands and Alex Callens team up to hold D.C. United scoreless!

The squad was fired up, including Dome Torrent who felt pride in his team for getting the first win of the season! Straight from the coaches mouth to your ears...

Bronx Borough Night


Back in the Bronx and hungry for more, NYCFC earned their second win in front of their home crowd while celebrating the Bronx. Joined by Bronx natives like Fat Joe and Remy Ma, as well as the First Lady of New York, Chirlane McCray, the party was popping at Yankee Stadium. 


It all started with a quick turnaround in practice as the team shifted their gears to face Chicago Fire at home. The team was fired up, to say the least.

We had star studded smoke stacks to kick off the night in true Bronx fashion, welcome to the Boogie Down Bronx!

If you thought the coin toss had a slightly different look to it, it's because honorary captain and First Lady of New York, Chirlane McCray, joined the Ringleader in center stage.

NYCFC's lone goal came early in the 9' minute, as Héber broke through the defense and crossed the ball to Valentin Castellanos who found the back of the net. Relive the moments with us below!
