Parley for the Oceans is back with adidas and Major League Soccer for the third season of their Earth Day program. This year, New York City FC is in the mix with a navy blue kit made of intercepted plastic waste.
For the third consecutive year, all 24 MLS clubs will be wearing special adidas x Parley eco-friendly kits during Earth Day weekend (April 19-21). These innovative kits, built with Climalite technology, are made from technical yarns comprised of intercepted plastic waste. As part of the global adidas x Parley initiative, plastic waste collected on beaches and in coastal communities is transformed into high-performance sportswear.
NYCFC will be wearing the Parley for the Oceans jersey on Sunday, April 21 on the road against DC United. The jersey is now available for sale on NYCFC.com/shop, adidas.com, and the team store.
In addition to the Parley jersey, NYCFC and City in the Community have also partnered with the Parks Agency and the New York Restoration Project to clean up Jerome Slope in the Bronx for Earth Day.
The Club and a number of volunteers will have an opportunity to get together in the park on April 19 and dedicate the day to improve the park for the community by picking up litter, removing weeds, and restoring plant life. City Members can register to join the NYCFC staff in the Bronx by using the Cityzens Portal.
