SAP Supports Soccer Bloc In New York

City Football Group partner SAP is supporting the New York City project in this year’s Cityzens Giving campaign.

Soccer Bloc uses street soccer to bring together  young people in safe spaces across the city, where they will make friends and celebrate New York City’s diversity.

Last October, Dan Fleetwood, VP of Global Sponsorships at SAP, attended the opening of a new mini-pitch in the Bronx and met with Young Leaders from the Soccer Bloc program which will be delivered there next year.

Dan: “SAP believes that young people have unique ideas and abilities to approach some of society’s most pressing challenges and we are proud to support the Cityzens Giving project here in New York City.

Soccer and technology are two of the great connectors – from bringing people together virtually or on a soccer field when people connect they start to learn from one another, value differences and foster a smarter understanding.

And today is just the beginning… SAP aims to make sure every program, every initiative delivers maximum impact. We believe that real impact can be made in the lives of young people and their communities through the combined power of technology, analytics, and soccer.”

In addition to supporting this year’s project in New York City, SAP is also supporting the City Girls project in Manchester.

SAP is also taking their support for Cityzens Giving further by using their expertise in data analytics to create a platform through which Cityzens Giving projects around the world will be better able to measure the impact of their work.

This unique combination of football, technology, and analytics will help to provide Young Leaders with greater insight into the impact they are having - and also ensure that Cityzens Giving continues to make a difference in the lives of young people and their communities.
