Degree and NYCFC Invite Soccer Fans to Play More, Move More, Live More

Soccer is Everywhere NYCFC x Degree

As part of their multi-year partnership, New York City Football Club (NYCFC) and Degree– the first deodorant activated by movement – are teaming up to celebrate New York City soccer fans and inspire “the City that never sleeps” to play more, move more and live more.

Starting today (through October 27th), New Yorkers will find seven pop-up goal installations built directly into the City’s urban environment, showing that with a little imagination, soccer can live anywhere.

New Yorkers may have already seen the pop-up goal installation that was placed in the West Village earlier this week to tease the activation. Remaining pop-up goal installations will be placed in the following neighborhoods: Meatpacking District, the Bronx, NoMad, SoHo, Lower East Side and the Financial District. Select NYCFC team members will stop by the installation at 28 Liberty Plaza (downtown Manhattan) on Friday, October 26th from 2:30pm – 3:30pm for meet-and-greets with fans.

On Sunday, October 28th, both partners will bring the sport to the streets with the Degree Soccer Tournament. The tournament will be part of NYCFC’s larger “Fan Fest” before the Club’s final game of the regular season against Philadelphia Union at Yankee Stadium (full details below). Soccer fans can follow @DegreeMen and @NYCFC for ongoing details on how to get involved.

"Degree is a brand that’s rooted in movement and no one moves more than the players of NYCFC," said Dawn Hedgepeth, General Manager and Vice President of Unilever Deodorants, Men's Grooming and Hand & Body Lotion. "In the U.S., soccer moves tend to be reserved for the field, that’s why we’re excited to bring some soccer inspiration to unexpected places in New York – ultimately encouraging people to play more, move more and live more."

Jon Patricof, President of NYCFC added, “Both NYCFC and Degree believe that soccer is so much more than a sport – it’s a global passion that connects people. We’re excited about bringing soccer fans – both new and old – together to rally around playing more.”
