Spotlight: Maxi Moralez vs. Chicago Fire

MaxiSpotlightChicago

Maxi Moralez has been cutting up defenses all year.

But last weekend he provided a cut of a different kind – to our guy Matt DePrima of the Third Rail – for tweeting a tweet his head had to cash – after the 5’3” El Frasquito scored on a skying header vs. Houston Dynamo late last season.

A true renaissance man, indeed.

Last night he got back to where his bread is buttered in the Bronx – assisting on two more goals – taking his tally to 15 so far on the year – tied for tops in MLS with Borek Dockal of the Philadelphia Union.

First he provided the incisive pass to David Villa, setting up Alex Ring’s first-time left-footed finish that finally broke the deadlock at Yankee Stadium.

Next it was textbook Maxi, dancing towards the touchline before picking the exact right moment to cross to David Villa, giving him an inch perfect pass he was never going to miss.

All in a week’s work for NYCFC’s #10.
