Yesterday, Monday September 24th, New York City FC and Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) hosted a job shadowing program at the Club’s Manhattan office.
Throughout the day, NYCFC staff across all departments of the organization worked alongside 10 high school students from South Bronx United to provide first-hand professional experiences.
The shadowing program, called Rompe Las Barrerras (or “Breaking Through the Barriers”), is made possible through the partnership between Major League Soccer and SNHU. NYCFC is one of eight MLS teams taking part in the initiative as the Club continues to activate throughout Hispanic Heritage Month this September. The program’s goal is to provide the students with a real-world look at the daily experiences of a professional in a field he or she has expressed an interest in, while also providing the group with some direction when choosing a college degree.
