Injury Report: Derby Day Decisions

Derby Week is here, and although the whole City is behind us, there will be a few Boys in Blue unable to play a part on the pitch Wednesday night.


Valentin Castellanos, Yangel Herrera, and Cedric Hountondji remain out, while Alexander Callens and Jesus Medina will also be out after picking up injuries in the match away to Philadelphia Union last weekend.


In addition, Ronald Matarrita will be serving a one game suspension for being red carded in the closing stages.

  • New York City FC has won three of the last five Hudson River Derbies (1L-1D). They had won once in the first six league meetings between the rivals (5L).

  • New York City FC has won just one of their last four MLS games (2L-1D), conceding multiple goals in four straight games for the first time since 2016. Their 2-0 loss last weekend snapped a streak of 14 straight MLS games with a goal.
