Major Keys

Major Keys: Back to the Fortress

MataKeys

NYCFC are back in the Bronx this Saturday night to take on Vancouver Whitecaps.

Here’s what it’s going to take to get the full three points at Yankee Stadium…

Home Cooking

It’s good to be back, baby!

After a demanding road trip from East to West last week, City is back in New York and primed to get back to winning ways at Yankee Stadium – where we are on a club-best run of 13 games unbeaten at home and counting.

It will be of paramount importance to continue performing well and protecting the fortress in the South Bronx if the Boys in Blue want to keep 1st place Atlanta and the Supporters Shield in their sights.

Bronx Bounceback

If NYC bounces back with a win on Saturday it would be business as usual.

New York has yet to lose back to back games all year, and hasn’t lost back to back regular season MLS matches since Week 7 of the 2016 season.

The DNA of New Yorkers continues to flow through this team….

Clean Sheets

While the shutout streak may have been snapped in Seattle, Sean Johnson has been immense.

Another on Saturday will result in the evening of the all-time series vs. Vancouver at two wins a piece since our entrance into the league in 2015.

Forward Firepower

Jesus Medina has risen in recent weeks, scoring three goals in his last four appearances after tallying just twice in his first 18 appearances.

Add in Jo Inge Berget and Ismael Tajouri-Shradi who returned to the pitch last week and that’s nearly full fire power.

Hopefully tomorrow’s injury report will provide more good news…

12th Man

A constant theme under Doménec Torrent has been the importance of in-stadium atmosphere.

Whether it’s getting up for a road match, riding the waves of momentum as tens of thousands cheer against you, or needing that extra juice to push for results at home when the odds seem stacked against, it’s easy to see just how big our fans have been this year.

See you Saturday.
