Not the first time this season, Sean Johnson brought his best brick wall impression this past week during Friday’s clash against Houston Dynamo.
Although it wasn’t enough to earn NYCFC the win, it was yet another amazing performance that gave the goalkeeper the NYCFC.com Star of the Game honors.
Johnson was great from the beginning, reacting quickly to make two incredible saves to keep City in front after a tremendous volley by David Villa in the first 6 minutes and another remarkable stop right before the end of the first half.
Immediately into the second half, Johnson was called into action, making a near-post stop in the first three minutes and another quick stop off his line to deny Quioto right before the hour mark.
Johnson made his seventh save of the night with a punch away on a long-range attempt.
