Injury report Berget LA Galaxy

Maxime Chanot will miss the Home Opener vs. LA Galaxy as he serves a one-match ban.

The Luxembourg international was sent-off in the dying minutes of New York City FC’s 2-0 win at Sporting Kansas City and was handed an automatic one-game ban.

Elsewhere, only Jo Inge Berget is rated as “questionable” for City’s first Bronx battle on Sunday evening as the Norwegian striker recovers from a quad injury.

For the visitors, Romain Alessandrini is the big-name absentee after the midfielder limped out of Galaxy’s season-opening victory over Portland Timbers.

Sebastian Lletget seems like the likeliest replacement for LA’s 2017 MVP as the former West Ham player has recovered from his long-term injury.

NYCFC are looking to make it three consecutive wins over the Galaxy, following the 2-0 victory City enjoyed at the StubHub Center last season.

David Villa is in line for his 100th MLS appearance for the Boys in Blue for the 5pm ET kick-off at Yankee Stadium on Sunday.

The match will be televised on YES Network and broadcasted live on NYCFC’s new radio home, WNYE 91.5 FM.
