NYCFC's James Sands and academy prospect Tyler Shaver have been named to the United States U-17 National Team squad that will participate in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in India next month.

Head Coach John Hackworth's 21-man squad will meet up for a pre-tournament training camp in Dubai on September 24th, where they'll spend time preparing for their tournament opener.

The United States opens their World Cup campaign on October 6th, when they'll face off against the host nation India in New Delhi.

Their next two group stage matches will be against Ghana on October 9th and Colombia on October 12th.

Sands and Shaver have played key roles for the U-17s in tournaments and camps leading up to the World Cup, making up a consistent part of a group whose core players will need to shine if the United States are to make an impact.
