James Sands & Tyler Shaver Named to U-17 Roster

James Sands Training

The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team head coach John Hackworth has named James Sands and Tyler Shaver, of NYCFC and the NYCFC Academy respectively, to his 23 player roster to take part in a five-day training camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. from Sept. 19-24.

The camp represents a homecoming of sorts for Sands – who just graduated from the final residency class at IMG Academy this past year.

This camp will be head coach Hackworth’s final opportunity to bring the U-17 player pool together before deciding on a final 21-man roster for the FIFA U-17 World Cup – where the USA will kick off vs. tournament host India on opening night October 6.
