This Week at #NYCFCHouse: 9/7 - 9/13

NYCFC House Underground Pitch

#NYCFCHouse, the club’s first-ever Pop-Up shop and experiential space, opened its doors last week in the heart of Manhattan’s Meatpacking District.


Last week, NYCFC House had a housewarming party to welcome guests to its grand opening and featured Chalk Talks from Chief Infrastructure Officer Jon Stemp, Head Coach Patrick Vieira, and Performance Analyst Dan Fradley. The House also featured soccer programs in its underground pitch, teaching children ball mastery, finishing, passing and speed of movement, and a watch party to watch USA take on Honduras. 


What else is happening over the next seven days? Here's a breakdown of what you can expect during NYCFC's second week: 


Thursday, September 7


Chalk Talk: Challenges/Benefits of Heading Up a Supporters Group in NYC
Speaker: Matt Pellegrino, Director of Operations, NYCFC
Time: 5pm


A lively round-table discussion on challenges/benefits of being the head of a supporters group in NYC. Inviting Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Barcelona, Juventus, Man City - Chaired by Matt Pellegrino.


Soccer in the City Podcast: Live Episode
Recapping: NYCFC vs Sporting KC
Time: 1-2pm


The English and Spanish radio voices of NYCFC, Glenn Crooks and Roberto Abramowitz will be in person producing the show with Tom Kolker and John Rojas joining via skype. Fans are invited to not only listen to the taping but are encouraged to participate by asking questions to be answered live as a part of that week’s episode.


Soccer Program: Passing
Time: 3-6pm

Friday, September 8 


Chalk Talk: NYCFC Youth Programs & Player Pathway
Speaker: Brian Walsh, Manager of Youth Programs, NYCFC
Time: 4pm


In this session Brian talks about the opportunities for young footballers to learn to play the City way and explains how dreams of being a professional footballer can come true.


Soccer Program: Ball Mastery
Time: 3-6pm

Saturday, September 9


Soccer Program: Speed of Movement & Finishing 
Time: 12-6pm


Race through the mannequins to see how fast you can go. Test your speed and finishing abilities! The player that earns the highest score each day will win a prize. Ages 5-14 only. RSVP must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian. Parent or legal guardian must accompany the participating child to the event. Children who are not accompanied by a parent or legal guardian will not be authorized to participate in the event.


Sunday, September 10


Soccer Program: Passing & Ball Mastery
Time: 12-6pm

Join us for a one-on-one with MLS Commissioner Don Garber on the state of MLS and the sport of soccer in the U.S. Here's a chance to ask the commissioner questions ranging from the salary cap to league expansion to how he sees the future of the league.

This Chalk Talk gives a behind the scenes look at the life and pathway of an academy graduate, from being scouted, through their development and their pathway to the first team.
