NYCFC Quartet Selected to Generation Adidas ESP

academy ESP

NYCFC Academy players Bryan Palma, Joseph Scally, Joe Suchecki and Omar Torres has been selected to the Generation Adidas Elite Soccer Program (ESP), a program that brings together the top MLS academy players born in 2002 and 2003.

This year, ESP week will be held between July 30th and August 3rd, running parallel to the MLS All-Star Game. These young players will be immersed in different types of competition on the field, including Futsal tournaments, 7-on-7 tournaments, skill challenges, and EA SPORTS FIFA tournaments.

Previous editions of this event have featured matches between MLS academy players and Bayern Munich's youth teams, coaching sessions from the likes of Pep Guardiola, and other experiences designed to give participants a taste of world class soccer.

Later this month, NYCFC's quartet and the other selected MLS academy players will attend the Energizer MLS Homegrown match, where they'll watch a squad of MLS academy graduates compete against Mexico's Chivas de Guadalajara, and the MLS All-Star Game, where they'll get to see the league's best players take on what is perhaps the best club side in the world, Real Madrid CF.

Here's what the 2016 Generation Adidas ESP week looked like:

From the whole NYCFC family, congratulations to Brian, Joseph, Joe and Omar!
