Injury Report: Pirlo Back, Chanot Questionable

Injury Report Red Bulls

Andrea Pirlo is ready to return for NYCFC after recovering from a knee injury.

The Italian maestro has been sidelined since the defeat to Real Salt Lake on May 17 but has now been taken off the injury list ahead of the visit to Red Bull Arena.

Maxime Chanot is rated as “questionable” following the hamstring injury he picked up on international duty with Luxembourg and it remains to be seen whether he’ll be fit enough to take to the field against Red Bulls on Wednesday night.

The May Etihad Player of the Month came off 25 minutes into the World Cup qualifier versus the Netherlands in Rotterdam.

Khiry Shelton is still approximately two weeks away from a return to action.

On team selection, Vieira told NYCFC.com: “We didn’t play for quite a while, have players coming back from injuries, and have most of our players available, so it’s going to be good to give some players time as well. So the mix, the balance of the team has to be good.”
