Maxime Chanot has been voted Etihad Player of the Month for May.
Chanot picked up 44% of the vote, beating out second-place finisher Ben Sweat by a margin of 10%.
This honor comes for Chanot right on the back of a performance that featured his first-ever NYCFC goal, an 80th-minute equalizer against the Philadelphia Union. On the defensive side of the ball, Chanot notched 38 clearances, 11 interceptions, and seven tackles across six matches during the month of May.
Earning Etihad Player of the Month honors is Chanot’s second accolade this week. Yesterday, he was named to the EA SPORTS FIFA FUT Team of the Week.
Believe it or not, the defender’s big week isn’t over yet. This afternoon, his Luxembourg squad will take on the Netherlands in a World Cup Qualifying match.
