- This will be only the third MLS meeting between the two teams (FC Dallas have won one and there was one draw). FC Dallas triumphed 2-1 in the only prior MLS game played between the two teams in Texas (September 12, 2015).

- FC Dallas has taken just 102 shots (inc. blocks) this season, the sixth-fewest in MLS. However, their shot conversion rate (inc. blocks) (12.8%) is the eighth-best in the league.
- David Villa has 47 goals since joining MLS in 2015. He needs just three goals to join the 50 goal club. Villa would be just the 22nd player to join that club.
