Hair Madness Returns for 2017!

Hair Madness 2017

Who’s your mane man?

Forget college basketball, everyone knows that March is all about the NYCFC ‘dos.

Yes, it’s the most wonderful time of the year once again as NYCFC.com goes in search of the player with the best haircut at the club.

Andrea Pirlo returns to defend his crown but there’s a whole host of new contenders out to unseat the Italian in this year’s competition.

There are some mouthwatering First Round match-ups on a razor’s edge with only a hair’s breadth separating the contenders…

Let’s take a look at some of the storylines thrown up by this First Round bracket…

First up, it’s the champ versus the man he defeated at this stage last year – yes, the iconic flowing locks of Andrea are up against the fresh chop of Mikey Lopez.

Can the Texan take revenge on the old master? He’ll have his work cut out but we all remember Leicester City…

Next, on the left side of the bracket, we’ve got MLS MVP and Hair Madness 2016 runner-up David Villa who is taking on everyone’s favorite Costa Rican full-back, Ronald Matarrita.

David seems to have ditched the headband in 2017, sporting a short, still-fresh style which is pitted against Ronald’s classic “greaser” look. An intriguing match-up!

Onto the right side of the bracket where there are a number of newcomers…

We’ve got a real clash of styles taking place as Sean Ugo Okoli meets John Stertzer, while Yangel Herrera is pitted against Alexander Callens in an all-South American battle.

Voting for the First Round is open now until Monday March 20 at 11.30pm, so fill out your brackets and we’ll let you know who advances on Tuesday.

Let the hair madness begin!
