Supporters decide how the $500,000 pledged by City Football Group and its partners is distributed between six worthy projects in cities across the globe. Run by inspiring young leaders, these community-based soccer programs use the power of the beautiful game to tackle social issues affecting young people in their city. The more votes a project gets, the more funding it will receive.

New York City: Healthy Hat-Trick

One third of children in New York City’s public elementary schools are obese or overweight. For the last two years, young leaders have been harnessing New York City’s passion for soccer to get over 600 kids fitter and healthier across the city. And, with help from SAP volunteers, they have also created a network of community soccer festivals, allowing them to reach out to even more kids.

However, the youth unemployment rate among 16 to 24-year-olds in Manchester stands at over 22% so Boots & Bears is back for a third year, reaching out to even more young people and connecting them with job related training, volunteering opportunities and employee mentoring from our partner SAP.
