Media Roundup: Bravo Open to NYCFC Return?

Bravo vs. New England 3/26

The 2017 MLS campaign is still months away but there’s no tumbleweed in this compilation of media headlines concerning NYCFC.

With draft season in full swing, transfer speculation is rife and we start with a line on the future of Federico Bravo.

The midfielder, who made 23 appearances for the club in 2016, is not ruling out a return to Yankee Stadium but for now is back in Argentina.

Bravo told John Rojas for Jugador Franquicia: “I had a great year at New York City.

“I have a great affection for the club and the people that work there. Football-wise, it was a great year and I improved in different ways. We had a respectable year and fulfilled our objectives and I’m very happy about that. I’m weighing the offers that I have but I will always consider New York City because of my time there.

“The reality is that I still don’t know where I will be next year or if New York City are interested in me returning.

“The situation still hasn’t been resolved and I’m staying calm. There will be a decision in the coming days and I’ll try to choose the best option.”

Elsewhere, Ethan White’s photography skills have been showcased on the Players Tribune website.

Ethan was present at the MLS Cup final in Toronto on Saturday and produced some beautiful shots for the organization he’s currently embarking on an internship at.

It’s well worth taking a look at all the whole set here.

Finally, ex-NYCFC midfielder Frank Lampard is reportedly a target for Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Championship.

According to The72.co.uk, the odds have been slashed on the 38-year old moving to the club currently in contention for promotion to the Premier League.

The story reads: “According to bookmakers Bet Victor, Brighton and Hove Albion are 2/1 favourites to sign the former Chelsea and England star before 3 February 2017.

“Despite his advancing years, Lampard would no doubt be seen as an important signing and one who would bring instant class to a side that is riding high at the top end of the Sky Bet Championship table and putting in a good shift at gaining promotion to the Premier League.”
