NYCFC lost no players in the Expansion Draft.

Atlanta United and Minnesota United made their five picks each and Head Coach Patrick Vieira saw none of his squad selected from those not listed as Protected.

Sean Johnson, RJ Allen, Maxime Chanot, Frederic Brillant, Ronald Matarrita, Mix Diskerud, Andrea Pirlo, Mikey Lopez, Jack Harrison, Tommy McNamara, Khiry Shelton and David Villa were all exempt from selection.

Versatile fullbacks Donny Toia (Montreal) and Chris Duvall (Red Bulls) were first round picks, before Atlanta went on to take two goalkeepers in the shape of Clint Irwin (Toronto) and Alec Kann (Sporting KC).

Minnesota also strengthened their goalkeeper department, bringing in Jeff Attinella (Real Salt Lake), as well as central midfielders Collen Warner (Houston) and Mohammed Saeid (Columbus Crew SC).

Atlanta also took Orlando right back Mikey Ambrose and defender Zach Loyd (FC Dallas) and Minnesota snapped up Femi Hollinger-Janzen (New England).
