New York City FC at Seattle Sounders: Match Preview

Looking to build off a massive win over Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia Union, New York City FC takes on Seattle Sounders FC at CenturyLink Field Saturday afternoon at 5pm ET. (ESPN | WFAN | WADO | International)

This will be the first time in Club history that NYCFC will play in Seattle.









NYCFC (5-5-6) is coming off a 3-2 win over the Union with all three Designated Players – Frank Lampard, David Villa and Andrea Pirlo – scoring in the same game for the first time.
NYCFC, which is third in the Eastern Conference with 21 points, five behind the Union, is trying to continue its fine road form. NYCFC, which is unbeaten in its last three away from Yankee Stadium, is one of four teams in MLS with three road wins.
The Sounders (5-8-1) are in ninth place in the Western Conference with 16 points and is coming off a 2-0 loss to the Red Bulls, its fourth loss in its last five games. Seattle will be without star forward Clint Dempsey, who remains with the United States national team, which faces Colombia in the third place match of the Copa America Centenario.








In the only previous meeting between the sides, Mehdi Ballouchy scored the lone goal in a 3-1 loss at Yankee Stadium on May 3, 2015.
