New York City FC at FC Dallas: Spotlight on Patrick Mullins

Patrick Mullins scoring at FC Dallas

New York City FC forward Patrick Mullins was thrust into the lineup against FC Dallas on Sept. 12 after captain David Villa had to exit with a hamstring injury.

The second-year striker scored the Club's lone goal in the 2-1 loss to the Western Conference opponent at Toyota Stadium. In the 69th minute, Mullins chipped the ball into the box, but Ned Grabavoy was taken down by Atiba Harris as the official pointed to the spot. Up stepped the 23-year-old Mullins who calmly slotted the ball into the lower right corner to get New York City FC on the board.

It was Mullins' fifth goal of the season and his first since the 4-4 draw with Toronto FC on July 12.

Here is the story of his day in video, statistics, quotes and more.
