New York City FC midfielder Kwadwo Poku has been voted by the fans as the Etihad Airways Player of the Month for August.
The 23-year-old Ghanaian scored three goals and had one assist in six matches (three starts) this past month. Poku scored his first-career brace in Major League Soccer in the Club's 2-2 draw with Columbus Crew SC on Aug. 19 at MAPFRE Stadium.
Poku was named to the MLS Team of the Week (Week 24) and his first goal against the Crew was nominated for MLS Goal of the Week (Week 25).
Poku has four goals and a team-leading seven assists in 20 matches (six starts) in his inaugural campaign in MLS.
