New York City FC defender RJ Allen earned his first honor in Major League Soccer, being named to the MLS Team of the Week (Week 16) for his performance in the Club's 2-0 win over Toronto FC on June 20 at BMO Field.
The right back had a match-high six tackles and added seven clearances. Along with fellow defenders Jason Hernandez, Shay Facey and Chris Wingert and defensive midfielder Andrew Jacobson, Allen limited Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco to three shots (one on target) in the shutout victory.
Since signing with the Club on May 2, Allen has made five appearances with four starts.
Here is the story of his day.
