New York City FC forward Adam Nemec started and played the full 90 minutes as the Slovak National Team beat Macedonia 2-1 in a Euro 2016 Qualifier on Sunday in Å½ilina.

Slovakia (6-0-0; 18 points) remain three points clear of Spain atop Group C following the victory. Kornel Salata and Marek Hamsik scored in the first half to give Slovakia a two-goal advantage at halftime the home side wouldn't relenquish.

Nemec, 29, has eight appearances (all starts) for New York City FC (3-7-5; 14 points) this season.

The Club, which won 3-1 over Montreal on Saturday, returns to the field on Wednesday evening against the New York Cosmos in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. EDT from Hofstra University's Shuart Stadium.
