Josh Saunders nominated for MLS Save of the Week (Week 3)

Josh Saunders Save of the Week (Week 3)

For the third consecutive week, Josh Saunders has come up huge for New York City FC. And for the third consecutive week, the veteran goalkeeper has had one of his stops nominated for the MLS Save of the Week.

Saunders had a season-high seven saves as New York City FC drew 0-0 with Colorado on Saturday evening in Commerce City, Colo. It was the Club's second shutout in a row and Saunders' 22nd in his MLS career.

In the eighth minute, Gabriel Torres latched onto a bouncing ball inside the box and toe poked a shot toward the lower left-hand corner, but Saunders covered the near post perfectly, pushing the attempt away from goal.
The other Week 3 nominees are: David Bingham (San Jose), Tyler Deric (Houston), Clint Irwin (Colorado) and Luis Robles (Red Bulls).
