NEW YORK | Joe Tolleson will handle play-by-play duties and Ian Joy will provide color commentary on the YES Network’s telecasts of New York City FC soccer matches this season. In addition, Carlos DeMolina has been named producer, and Jim Daddona director, of YES’ New York City FC match telecasts. YES’ first New York City FC telecast this season will be on Saturday, March 21, when New York City FC visits Colorado (4 pm ET). YES will air a special pre-season special at 3:30 pm ET prior to that match telecast.

Tolleson has done play-by-play for ESPN International’s coverage of the UEFA Champions League, the CONCACAF Champions League, Serie A (Italy), La Liga (Spain), and World Cup Qualifiers. He is also Executive Producer of SiriusXM FC 94, the 24-hour soccer channel on satellite radio. He has covered every Winter and Summer Olympics for Westwood One Radio since 2002, announcing soccer and other sports. He handled play-by-play duties at MSG Network for the New York Red Bulls (including when the team was known as the NY/NJ MetroStars), and the New York Power of the WUSA. In addition, he is the New York Rangers' arena announcer at Madison Square Garden, has done radio play-by-play for the team and hosted NHL Radio’s studio show for nine years.
Joy’s 14-year pro playing career started in Scotland before he moved on to England and then to Germany (playing for Hamburger SV and then FC St Pauli in the Bundesliga). After joining Real Salt Lake in 2008, he helped the team reach the playoffs that year, the first post-season berth in franchise history. After an injury-plagued start to the 2009 MLS season for Real Salt Lake, Joy returned to Germany for a brief spell before accepting an offer stateside to captain the 2010 Portland Timbers team in what would turn out to be his last ever professional season. Following his retirement from soccer, Joy did MLS color commentary for FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake’s radio and TV broadcasts. Since August 2012, Joy has been a soccer analyst for beIN Sports, where he has held multiple roles including color commentator and studio analyst working on Serie A, French Ligue 1 and La Liga telecasts. He also hosted beIN Sports’ 2014 World Cup studio show from Rio.
DeMolina’s resume includes work at NBC Sports, CBS Sports Network, FOX Sports, FOX Sports West/PRIME TICKET, Showtime, Univision Sports and NHL Network. He spent 16 years at NBC Sports, where he won nine Emmy Awards and worked seven Olympics, two World Series, five League Championship Series, three MLB All-Star Games, three NBA Finals and five Stanley Cup Finals. Most recently, he has been coordinating producer of CBS Sports/CBS Sports Network’s Professional Bull Riders coverage and has also been producing college hockey telecasts on CBS Sports Network. In addition, DeMolina has produced Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks game telecasts as a freelancer for FOX Sports West/PRIME TICKET since 2010. From 2011 to 2013, he produced Mexican National Team and Mexican League Soccer telecasts on Univision Sports.
Daddona produced and directed the New England Revolution TV package for 12 years and, from 2012 to 2013, had been the primary director for NBC Sports Network’s MLS coverage. He also was the coordinating producer of Red Sox baseball at NESN last season, producing more than 120 game telecasts. From 2008-2013, Daddona produced the New York Islanders TV package for MSG Media. He was coordinating producer at HDNet in charge of MLS and NHL coverage from 2007 to 2008. He has also produced Women’s World Cup soccer telecasts as well as NCAA Men’s Final Four Basketball and the Boston Marathon. Daddona earned a New England Emmy Award for his work on Hartford Whalers NHL telecasts, and he produced hockey, college basketball and football telecasts for ESPN for 12 years.
YES, the most-watched regional sports network in the country in 11 of the past 12 years, is New York City FC’s exclusive local television home; it has the rights to televise all New York City FC home and away regular season matches. YES’ match telecasts will be presented by Etihad Airways. The network will televise New York City FC matches within its traditional service area: throughout New York State and Connecticut; north and central New Jersey; and northeastern Pennsylvania.
In addition, all New York City FC matches televised by YES will be streamed live free via the FOX Sports GO app to authenticated YES viewers whose operators have streaming deals with YES (currently Cablevision and Time Warner Cable).
YES, which has won 80 New York Emmy Awards since its 2002 launch, already currently televises matches and shoulder programming involving New York City FC’s sister Club, Barclays Premier League Champions, Manchester City FC.
