New York City FC lifts the lid on the birth of a new Club

Welcome to the Club

New York City FC, the new Major League Soccer franchise, has unveiled a digital-led video shorts series charting the formation of the Club from its inception.


Welcome to the Club, sponsored by New York City FC’s principal partner, Etihad Airways, gives fans a unique, all-access look at never before seen landmark moments on the path to the team’s inaugural competitive games against Orlando City SC in Florida on March 8 and New England Revolution in New York City FC’s first home at Yankee Stadium on March 15.


Fans will be able to see how the key decisions were made as New York City FC was being built. From the choice of badge, to the recruitment of coaching and business staff, through to player signings and the unveiling of the Club’s first jersey; the Club will let its followers behind the scenes in weekly video clips.


The videos will be available across the Club’s digital properties including NYCFC.com, and on their Facebook page.

“Since our inception, cameras have been provided unfettered access to document a lasting record of what it takes to build a Club from scratch. We want New Yorkers to be able to watch never-seen-before footage of everything that has gone into getting us ready for kick-off.

We are also engaging them and listening to their voice as we make important decisions in the future. We look forward to sharing more news soon of the ways in which we will be working with our fans to make sure that they are at the heart of this Club.”
