Three New York City FC players saw action over the weekend on three different continents.

David Villa started and played 90 minutes for Melbourne City against local rival Melbourne Victory in front of 43,729 fans at Etihad Stadium, but was held scoreless for the first time in his short Australian career despite creating plenty of action on the offensive action for the new club. Melbourne City lost the match by a final score of 5-2.

Josh Saunders recorded another shutout for the San Antonio Scorpions as they beat the NASL's top team, Minnesota United, and clinched a home playoff game. The win pulled San Antonio within 2 points of the top spot in the NASL Fall Season Standings with one match to play.

And finally, Andrew Jacobson was back in the starting XI and played the full 90 for Bob Bradley's Stabaek in a 1-1 draw at Sarpsborg 08. The New York City midfielder continues to make waves in Norway as one of the best new Yanks Abroad of the young season.

Frank Lampard, Kwame Watson-Siriboe, and Jeb Brovsky were not in the 18 for their respective sides.
