2016: Saad Abdul-Salaam was named Sporting KC's Defensive Player of the Year 2016 after completing six assists - a league-high for a defender.
2015: Abdul-Salaam was drafted as the twelfth overall pick during the 2015 MLS SuperDraft by Sporting Kansas City. In April 2015, Sporting Kansas City announced that Saad would be loaned out to the San Antonio Scorpions for the North American Soccer League spring season. He made his professional debut for the Scorpions when they went up against the Tampa Bay Rowdies where he played the full 90 minutes as San Antonio fell 3-1. Saad made five appearances for the club before he was recalled from his loan one month later by Sporting KC. Saad has played 64 times in three seasons for Sporting KC and has scored one goal.
2013: Saad went on to play for the Portland Timbers U-23s following his college career where he made six appearances and scored one goal.
College: Saad grew up in Ohio where he played for the local high school team that won the state championship in 2009. Abdul-Salaam then went on to play for the Akron Zips for four years while attending the University of Akron where he made 54 appearances and scored three goals.
